Accepting Me For Who I Am

Tonight I spent time with two very good friends. It is such a wonderful feeling knowing that they accept me for who I am. Earlier today I started getting nervous because my house was a mess, and we were going to be spending time at my house! I felt myself get just a little anxious, until I remembered that they are my friends, and they will not judge me by what my house looks like. I really needed to step back and tell myself that, just like I am not my body, I am also not my house. I am who I am without any external identities. The people that I love and trust will love me even if my house looks like a bomb went off. It felt good to know that I could straighten up until I didn’t feel like doing anymore, and then I could stop.

What Is True For Me

There is such an intense feeling of joy and peace in my soul when I am with people who accept me for who I am. What a feeling knowing that I can talk about what is true for me, and know that I am not being judged. So many relationships in my past were about being judged. Was I acting the way I “should be” acting, doing what everybody else was doing so I didn’t stand out? Wow, what a difference.

I go to sleep tonight feeling connected and content. Joy is singing in my heart.

I want to write one paragraph of a really beautiful poem that I found in the book called, Urgent Message From Mother, Gather the Women, Save The World, by Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D.

UnTapped Source Of Peace
Jean Shinoda Bolen

Untapped source of peace,

Women in circles,

Women connecting,

Women together

Bringing the sacred feminine,

Maternal instinct, sister archetype,

Mother power

Into the world.
